Goodbye for Now

After four years on the blogosphere, we have made the decision to deactivate regular posting on sbc IMPACT! for the time being. The main reason for this is that several of our contributors currently have busy schedules that don’t leave the time for blogging they once had, and several have lost (at least for the time being) a passion for blogging.
In the meantime, we will leave all the archives online, and leave the comments open.
Several of our contributors will continue to post over at SBC Voices, as well as at personal blog sites. We look forward to maintaining the dialogue over there.
We appreciate all of you who have followed sbc IMPACT! over the last four years, and the great discussions we have had. We trust the Lord has been glorified, and His Body edified, as we have sought to provide a setting for “iron to sharpen iron” (Proverbs 27:17).
To him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy—to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen. (Jude 24–25)

Enjoyed the time with you guys. Thanks for all you have said to help me along. I have learned much over the past few years. Guess I will have to download a few of the posts so I can use them as I disciple people who I will be working with in my church. I want to encourage all who are pastors here to emphasize the one-on-one discipleship from your membership to new converts. That is part of our maturity in Christ. Your deacons should be the main ones in your discipleship training of new members and converts.
I am glad to know you Dave. Never thought I would have an opportunity to discuss things with Adrian Rogers’ son. Thanks to Andrew Wenchl, Chris Johnson, Dave Miller and others for your comments to me and allowing me to make a few brief comments about your post. May Grace abound to all.
Bruce,
I have enjoyed discussing issues with you here as well, and am glad that sbc IMPACT has been a blessing in your life. Hopefully, you will continue to interact with those of us who plan to post over at SBC Voices. It may be a few days until we get that all sorted out, but you will, no doubt, find several of us, and our future posts, over there.
Bruce was our “All-Star” commenter over here.
I am sad to see yall take a break but I understand the rationale.
Leaving SBC discussion to the likes of SBC Voices is a step toward the abyss for sure.
I guess I will monitor my friend Howell Scott at From Law 2 Grace even closer, and more frequently comment at William Thornton’s SBC Plodder.
There is ongoing conversation about matters SBC at SBC Trends site of baptistlife.com/forums if anybody wants to risk that conversation.
I was dropping by to see if there was any chatter about what Nelson Price and Don Dowles are doing to Shorter College in Rome, Georgia. The opinion pages of the Rome News Tribune have been on fire this last month, not to mention the online responses to letters published in the paper.
Giberson and Stephens new book The Anointed is most timely to frame that conversation
