About a year ago a friend of mine introduced me to a ministry called Sportsmen’s Devotional. The goal of the ministry is to provide daily devotions for men (and even women) who enjoy the outdoors. I promptly subscribed to the daily e-mail service. I also wrote a brief post about the ministry on my old blog.
About a month later I received an e-mail contact from the founder and leader of the ministry. He had followed a trackback to my blog and read some of my posts. He invited me to join the writing team of Sportsmen’s Devotional as a regular contributor. It has been an honor to provide two daily devotions each month for this incredible effort.
Besides the e-mail service, the ministry now places the devotions on-line through a daily blog. You can check out a couple of my latest contributions to the effort here and here. Please consider adding it to your daily feeds. And be sure to pass the word on to the outdoorsmen in your church.

Geoff,
I’ve subscribed to Sportsmen Devotional for several months. I had no idea you were a part of it. You’ve written some good articles for them.
Hunting, fishing, trapping, sports, nature can all be used to reach others for Christ. I appreciate what you all are doing.

David,
I’m glad that the ministry has been of help to you.
Of course, I can claim absolutely no ownership of it. Many of the folks who write for SD are from out west, including the organizers and editorial team. I was simply honored to be invited to participate.
Please pass the word on to as many men as possible and invite them to subscribe. I really think that this type of devotion ministry, completely focused upon the hearts and needs of men, has been sorely needed for a long time.
Blessings,
Geoff
